Villlarreal was successfully beat Porto 3-2 in Europa League semi-final second leg. But it was unable to blocking the Dragons to advance to the final with a total aggregate win 7-4.
In the game at El Madrigal Stadium on Thursday (05/05/2011), Villarreal have a burden for the 4-0 win to qualify for the finals, after losing 1-5 in the first encounter.
Halftime Villarreal lead 1-0 through goals Cani, before equalized by Hulk. At the beginning of the second half Radamel Falcao bring Porto lead. Falcao set a new record for most goals in a European campaign with his 16th for Porto in this season's competition. The Colombian's tally beat that of former Tottenham and Germany striker Jurgen Klinsmann, who scored 15 for Bayern Munich as they won this tournament in 1996, when it was known as the Uefa Cup.
Finally, Joan Capdevilla's a goal and Giuseppe Rossi's penalty, making El Submarino win 3-2. But they failed to qualify for aggregate defeat.
With this victory Porto will play in the final match in Dublin Arena May 18 against other Portuguese side Braga, that beat Benfica to qualify for the finals on away goals.
