Liverpool secure their first away win over Arsenal for 11 years since 2000 and for the second week in succession at English Premier League, the Gunners had a man sent off and failed to score a goal.
With Samir Nasri in the line-up Arsenal actually have some chances to beat liverpool. Nasri impressed with a surging run from inside his own half that ended with him shooting just wide from 20 yards and Frimpong also forced a fine stop from Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina with a low drive.
Arsenal almost made the breakthrough after 68 minutes when Andrey Arshavin found Van Persie in the area but Reina stuck out a leg to make a vital save.
Arsene Wenger side were reduced to 10 men after Emmanuel Frimpong was shown a second yellow card when he left his foot up in a fifty-fifty with Lucas.
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish reacted by introducing Luis Suarez and Raul Meireles, With the advantage of the number of players the Reds took the lead in the 78th minute, as a comedy of defensive errors allowed them the lead. Miguel’s attempted clearance hit Aaron Ramsey in the face and looped into the net.
A miserable afternoon for the Gunners was compounded in the dying seconds when Suarez applied a simple finish from Meireles's pass to wrap up Liverpool's first win of the season.
