Jose Paolo Guerrero's hat trick leads Peru over Venezuela 4-1 to finish third in Copa

Peru win third place in 2011 Copa America after beat Venezuela 4-1. Striker Paolo Guerrero scored a hat-trick as Peru crushed ten man Venezuela at La Plata on Saturday.

William Chiroque opened the scoring on a counter attack just before halftime. He fed the ball to Guerrero on the right and rushed into the area to meet the cross, easily finding the open net with a left footed shot.

Peru's second and Guerrero's first goal came soon after Venezuela midfielder Tomas Rincon was sent off for a hard sliding tackle on Carlos Lobaton in the 58th minute. Guerrero took Chiroque's pass and calmly measured his shot into the roof of the net.

Venezuela pulled a goal back when midfielder Juan Arango poked home in the 79th minute at the end of a counter attack.

Guerrero hit Venezuela again with two more goals in late breakaways, showing great control and exquisite finishing in both to cement his place as one of the best strikers of the tournament. The goals made Guerrero the 2011 Copa America's leading scorer with five, two more than Uruguay's Luis Suarez and Argentina's Sergio Aguero.
