Japan decided to go for the Copa America 2011



Japan to rectify the decision to withdraw from the Copa America 2011. Japan with the status of invited guests had ever decided to withdraw from participation in the Copa America 2011. The decision was taken Japan Football Association (JFA) following the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in March.

The disaster also led to leaking nuclear reactors that make domestic competition in Japan (J League) messed up. Schedules of J League should be delayed until five weeks. The fact is the reason for Japan to withdraw from the Copa America 2011. They will have difficulty collecting the player. However, after going through the various considerations, JFA decided to stay involved in the Copa America 2011. News of the decision was conveyed Vice President of JFA, Kozo Tashima.

When Japan took the decision to withdraw, in fact, organizers of the Copa America to prepare a backup step. They plan to invite Spain to replace Japan in Copa America 2011.
