Madrid dominance this match. Although a lot of possession, they closed the first half with one goal behind. Surprisingly it was Zaragoza who broke the deadlock in the 40th minute. A calamitous air kick from Casillas gave Lafita the simple task of slotting the ball into the back of the net to silence the Bernabeu and leave the Spanish goalie embarrassed. Los Blanquillos went in at half-time in the lead as Jose Mourinho’s horror week continued.
In the second half, Madrid and Zaragoza were both successfully scored two goals. Madrid goals made Sergio Ramos in the 62nd minute and Karim Benzema scored in minutes 85, while Zaragoza through Lafita (minute 77') and Gabi in the 54th minute (penalty kick). As a result, the final score 3-2 for the visitors victory.
These results further complicate efforts of Madrid, for pursue Barcelona. Madrid still ranks second in the Spanish League standings with 80 points from 34 matches and left behind eight points of Barca.
