Italy 3-0 Estonia



Italy remain runaway leaders in Group C after thumping Estonia 3-0 on Friday (6/3/2011). The Italy's front pairing of Giuseppe Rossi and Antonio Cassano hit it off immediately with the pint-sized forwards scoring in the 21st and 39th minutes respecitvely with similar angled drives to give Italy a cushion at halftime.

Fourth-placed Estonia, who had taken four points off Serbia in their past two games, rarely threatened as an exciting Italy side scored a well-taken third goal after 68 minutes through substitute Giampaolo Pazzini.

The victory sends Prandelli's side five points clear of second-placed Slovenia with a game in hand four matches from the end of the campaign, meaning just two more victories will be enough to send them to Poland and Ukraine in a year's time. They are being followed by Slovenia in second position with 14 points. Slovenia, at the same time, also successful victory. They won 2-0 over host Faroe Islands.

Estonia, meanwhile, have a steep climb ahead of them as they now sit four points off a possible play-off spot.
