Persipura ensure Indonesia Super League 2011 Crown



Persipura Jayapura confirmed their second Indonesia Super League (ISL) title in three season following their 2-1 victory over Persisam Samarinda at Segiri Stadium on Wednesday (6/8/2011).

With three games yet to play, Persipura have garnered 55 points from 25 matches played, nine points ahead of second placed and defending champions Arema Indonesia, who incidentally have played one match more.

Persipura won their first title in the ISL in the inaugural season in 2004-2005 before winning the second crown in the 2008-2009 season.

Persipura had left behind. Fandi Mochtar gave Persisam the lead when he fired on 21 minutes. Persipura turn things around goal by Ortizan Solossa's amazing free kick on 34 minutes and Titus Bonai was the hero for the Mutiara Hitam when he scored in the 64th minute.
