Roma has appointed Luis Enrique as coach



Former Real Madrid and Barcelona midfielder, Luis Enrique has signed a contract to become coach of AS Roma on two year contract worth €1.6m per season net with an option for a third campaign.

Sky Italia reports that an agreement has been reached between AS Roma and the former Barcelona B coach, and that an official announcement is expected soon.

He will bring in four of his staff from the Barca B unit along with another member, who will remain in Barcelona, including assistant manager Ivan De La Pena, who played two years for Roma's crosstown rivals S.S. Lazio, plus a fifth figure who will remain in Barcelona as a talent scout.

Luis Enrique replace Vincenzo Montella as the AS Roma head coach. Montella was appointed the interim tactician following the departure of Claudio Ranieri in February this year.

Gialorossi finished sixth in Serie A campaign this season (2010-11) and will enter the UEFA Europa League playoff round for next season.
