Stephan El Shaarawy join to Milan on a co-ownership deal for €10m

Genoa Midfielder Stephan El Shaarawy is close to joining AC Milan on a co-ownership deal, Rossoneri have bought a 50 percent stake in 18 year old player for €10 million.

As the two sides agreed on a co-ownership deal Alexander Merkel will be playing for Genoa next season.

Stephan El Shaarawy is excited to now be an AC Milan player, he has previously spoken of his dream to join AC Milan.

According to Sky Sport Italia, he told “It will be an honour to play alongside all these great champions and I can’t wait to get started”.

“My hope is to start off straight away by winning the Italian Super Cup against Inter, my first official game for the club", he said.

El Shaarawy spent last season on loan at Padova, where he helped them reach the final of the Serie B playoffs. Padova were beaten 2-0 on aggregate by Novara who ended a 55 year absence from Serie A.

The Italy Under-21 player has an Italian mother and Egyptian father, earning him the nickname "Little Pharaoh".
