Liverpool 1-1 Sunderland at Anfield



Kenny Dalglish's side dominated the first half through Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez who repeatedly break the Sunderland's defense, Though without Steven Gerrard, Martin Skrtel and Glen Johnson because of injuries, gave debuts to Jose Enrique, Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing.

Minute 5, Suarez failed to take advantage from a penalty, perhaps tiredness after winning the Copa America with his country, He returning to training on Monday. Penalty awarded after Suarez was tripped by Kieran Richardson.

But the first goal was not delayed long, Suarez scored with a stooping header at the near post after a free kick from Charlie Adam on the right with his left foot.

In the second half Liverpool lacked penetration, while Sunderland played well and maybe deserved to win.

Sunderland managed to equalize when Sebastian Larsson volleyed in from Ahmed Elmohamady's right wing cross, inside Liverpool goalkeeper Jose Reina's left upright.

Dalglish sent on Dirk Kuyt and Raul Meireles for Henderson and Luis Suarez but the winning never looked like coming.
