Barca claim UEFA Super Cup 2011

Substitute Cesc Fabregas score his first Barca goal as the Spanish giant beat nine man FC Porto 2-0 in wet conditions at the Stade Louis II Monaco to win the UEFA Super Cup 2011.

The UEFA Best Player in Europe Lionel Messi was again the main actor for the Catalan club, scoring the first goal and setting up the second for ex-Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

Barca took the lead when Fredy Guarin's poor backpass six minutes before the break gave possession to Lionel Messi, who rounded keeper Helton and finished into the empty net.

Porto's Rolando was sent off, he has already booked, who then saw red card after tripping Messi. Pep Guardiola's side wasted little time capitalising, substitute Fabregas finishing delightfully before GuarĂn was dismissed in the final minute for a sliding challenge on Javier Mascherano.

The win is the 12th trophy during Pep Guardiola's reign as coach, making him the most successful coach in the club’s rich history.
