Fred secures late Brazil draw against Paraguay

Substitute striker Fred secures late defending champion Brazil a 2-2 draw against Paraguay in the 2011 Copa America at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes on Saturday, but their qualification for the knockout stages is far from secured.

It took five time World Cup champion Brazil 40 minutes to break the deadlock, Jadson Rodrigues, in for Robinho in the starting eleven, fired home with a low effort from outside the box.

Ten minutes after the break Roque Santa Cruz slotted home the equaliser for Paraguay. Twelve minutes later the Brazil defence was caught out, Nelson Valdez making it 2-1 Paraguay.
