Italy beat World and European Champion Spain 2-1 on Friendly Match



Riccardo Montolivo and Alberto Aquilani is a hero to Italy a 2-1 win over world champions Spain, that could only pulled one back through a Xabi Alonso's penalty kick.

Italy midfielder Alberto Aquilani netted goal for victory in the 84th minute when his decisive shot was deflected in by Spain defender Raul Albiol.

Cesare Prandelli's side, top of UEFA Euro 2012 qualifying Group C by five points, took the lead in Bari when Riccardo Montolivo lifted a shot over charging goalkeeper Iker Casillas after ten minutes of the game.

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso put Spain level from the penalty spot eight minutes before half time.

Italy beat Spain 2-1 on a windy evening in front of 50,000 at San Nicola stadium, Bari, Italy.
