A goal scored by Paul Scholes when United crush MLS team, New York Cosmos in a farewell match which was specially prepared for him after he retired.

Incoming onto the field with his three children, Scholes received applause around 76,000 United fans who crowded stadium.

This match was held at Old Trafford on Friday, United won 6-0. Scholes scored on a trademark shot from 20 yards, Wayne Rooney converted a penalty kick to give a full-strength United a 2-0 lead at halftime.

With a Community Shield match looming against Manchester City on Sunday, United manager Alex Ferguson reshuffled his lineup for the second half. Another four goals scored by Anderson, Danny Welbeck and two goals from Mame Biram Diouf.

Entering the 75th minute, Scholes pulled out by Fergie. Standing ovation was again shown the Red Devils fans along with two guests of honor, Pele and United legend, Eric Cantona, was now New York Cosmos Soccer director.
