Alexis Sanchez equalized to give Chile a 1-1 draw against Uruguay



Alexis Sanchez, who has been linked to a move from Italian club Udinese to a number of top European clubs including Barcelona, scored the equalizer in Chile's 1-1 draw against Uruguay at Stadium Malvinas Argentinas, Mendoza on friday (7/8/2011) in Group C second 2011 Copa America match.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup semifinalist Uruguay started well in the first half they had a few chances, with a Diego Forlan shot which was stopped by a Chile defender. But in the second half they took the lead by Alvaro Pereira who scored on 54 minutes by a perfect pass from Luis Suarez.

Chile have 4 points from two games and Uruguay have 2 points. The group finishes on Tuesday (7/12/2011) when Chile plays Peru and Uruguay faces Mexico. The top two teams from each of the three groups will reach the quarterfinals, along with the two best third-placed teams.
