Uruguay 2-0 Peru : Luis Suarez scores twice to ensure a ticket to the 2011 Copa America final



The 2010 World Cup semifinalist Uruguay ensure a ticket to the Copa America final after beat Peru 2-0 at La Plata on tuesday, kept on course for what would be a record 15th win in the world's oldest international football tournament, Copa America.

Two goals in the space of five minutes in the second half from Luis Suarez were enough for Oscar Washington Tabarez's side to make it through.

The Atletico Madrid forward Diego Forlan misfit fired in a majestic left footed shot, which keeper Raul Fernandez was only able to parry and Liverpool striker Luis Suarez reacted in a flash to bury the rebound from point blank range.

Suarez scored again five minutes later when Alvaro Pereira passed from the left and the striker collected the ball, rounded Fernandez on the edge of the box and steered it gently home.

Uruguay task was made easier when Peru's captain, Juan Vargas, was sent off after 69 minutes, when He reacted to provocation from Sebastian Coates and elbowed the defender in the face, earning himself a red card.
